Flydubai Joins Forces With SriLankan Airlines To Expand Travel Opportunities
flydubai and SriLankan Airlines have announced an interline agreement starting from 9th September 2024. This partnership will enhance travel options between the UAE, Sri Lanka, and other destinations within their networks.
This collaboration allows flydubai passengers to access 16 destinations on SriLankan’s network. These include cities in Southern and East Asia, the Middle East, and Australia such as Melbourne, Seoul, Singapore, and Tokyo.

Additionally, SriLankan Airlines passengers can connect through Dubai to over 30 destinations served by flydubai. These destinations span Africa, Central Asia, Central and Southeast Europe, and the Middle East. Popular holiday spots like Bucharest, Krakow, Mombasa, Naples, Tashkent, and Zanzibar are included.
The agreement offers the convenience of single-ticket itineraries for passengers. It also includes through-checked baggage and coordinated flight schedules to ensure a smooth travel experience.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer of flydubai, commented on the agreement: "We are excited about our new interline agreement with SriLankan Airlines, which will further strengthen trade and tourism relations between the UAE and Sri Lanka. Since launching operations to Sri Lanka in 2010, we have seen a consistent demand for travel between our two countries. Dubai remains a thriving aviation hub, and through this agreement, new horizons will open for our passengers, offering more travel options."
Strengthening Trade and Tourism
This partnership aims to boost trade and tourism ties between the UAE and Sri Lanka. The consistent demand for travel between these nations since flydubai started operations to Sri Lanka in 2010 highlights this need.
Richard Nuttall, Chief Executive Officer of SriLankan Airlines said: "We are delighted to partner with flydubai to provide our passengers seamless connections and greater convenience. This partnership reinforces our strategy to expand our network and global reach, giving customers more travel choices and flexibility. We look forward to collaborating with flydubai and welcoming their passengers on board to experience an authentic SriLankan journey."
The interline agreement is expected to open new horizons for passengers by offering more travel options through Dubai’s aviation hub.
This collaboration not only enhances connectivity but also provides greater convenience for travellers from both airlines.
