Flydubai To Boost European Presence With New Routes To Basel And Baltic Cities
Flydubai, the Dubai-based airline, is set to expand its European footprint by introducing flights to four new destinations: Basel, Riga, Tallinn, and Vilnius. This development positions flydubai as the first national carrier to offer direct flights from Dubai to these cities. The announcement earlier this year highlighted that these services would commence from Terminal 3 at Dubai International (DXB), further enhancing the airline's network.
The inaugural flight to EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg (BSL) is scheduled for 2nd August, marking flydubai's debut in Switzerland. The airline will also pioneer its presence in the Baltic region with direct flights to Riga International Airport (RIX) in Latvia starting from 11th October, followed by services to Tallinn Airport (TLL) in Estonia and Vilnius International Airport (VNO) in Lithuania from 12 October.

Jeyhun Efendi, Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce at flydubai, expressed enthusiasm about the new routes: "Over the years, we have remained dedicated to opening up underserved destinations, and we are pleased to reaffirm this with the addition of Basel, Riga, Tallinn, and Vilnius. We have already seen strong demand ahead of the route launches and we are confident that our new services will offer more people a convenient and reliable travel experience through Dubai’s aviation hub."
Monica Linder Guarnaccia, Chief Marketing Officer at EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg, also shared her optimism regarding the new connection: "Dubai is the perfect addition to our destination portfolio. Thanks to flydubai, the Metropolitan Region of Basel is connected to a city of significant economic importance. And, thanks to the codeshare with Emirates, Dubai is also a gateway to countless other metropolises. We look very forward to welcoming flydubai at the EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg."
Flydubai has rapidly grown its network to encompass 129 destinations across 58 countries, supported by a modern fleet of 86 Boeing 737 aircraft. This expansion into Europe underscores the airline's commitment to connecting underserved markets with Dubai's renowned aviation hub, offering passengers from the UAE, GCC, and beyond more opportunities to explore new destinations.
