Flydubai Collaborates With Boeing To Enhance Pilot And Maintenance Training Programmes

flydubai and Boeing have signed agreements to enhance training for pilots and maintenance staff. These programmes aim to support flydubai's fleet operations by offering comprehensive training for new pilots, those undergoing initial type rating courses, and maintenance personnel. The focus is on Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) programmes, which are designed to improve training outcomes through competency-focused and data-driven scenarios.

The CBTA programmes will provide a modern framework for continuous professional development. This approach ensures that flydubai's pilots and engineers receive performance-driven training that meets the highest global standards. By focusing on competency, the training is tailored to be more effective, enhancing safety, operational efficiency, and confidence in flight and maintenance operations.

Flydubai and Boeing Enhance Training Solutions

Boeing will also offer consulting services to help implement these training programmes at flydubai. This collaboration aims to integrate advanced technologies and industry-leading services into flydubai’s training capabilities. The goal is to maintain high standards in their expanding community of aviation professionals.

Chris Broom, Vice President of Training Solutions at Boeing Global Services, stated that flydubai is showing proactive leadership by prioritising safety and quality. The airline provides access to extensive training programmes for its crews involved in maintenance and flight operations. This commitment underscores the importance of effective training in ensuring operational excellence.

flydubai employs over 6,700 people across various functions, including more than 640 skilled engineers and nearly 1,400 pilots. The airline operates a growing fleet of 96 Boeing 737 aircraft. Earlier this year, flydubai launched its Flight Training facility on its campus grounds as part of its initiatives to invest in its skilled workforce.

Investing in Workforce Development

The introduction of the flydubai Ab Initio Pilot Training Programme highlights the airline's focus on workforce development. This initiative is one of many aimed at nurturing talent within the organisation. By investing in such programmes, flydubai ensures that its employees are equipped with the necessary skills to meet industry demands.

Captain Ahmad Bin Huzaim, Senior Vice President of Flight Operations and Crew Training at flydubai, emphasised the airline's commitment: "flydubai remains committed to integrating the most advanced technologies and industry-leading services to ensure our training capabilities consistently meet the highest global standards."

The collaboration between flydubai and Boeing represents a significant step towards enhancing aviation safety and efficiency through targeted training initiatives. By focusing on competency-based approaches, both companies aim to set new benchmarks in aviation training standards.
