Five Cognitive Sites Enrich The Experience For Pilgrims And Visitors To The Prophet's Mosque
Visitors to the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah can explore a variety of unique sites and exhibitions that offer insights into Islamic heritage. These attractions enhance the experience for pilgrims by showcasing historical content and the welcoming nature of Madinah. Among these is the Exhibition for the Architectural Evolution of the Prophet’s Mosque, located on the southern side near Exits 308 and 309.
The Architectural Evolution Exhibition uses modern technology and interactive displays to illustrate the mosque's architectural history. It welcomes visitors daily from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Nearby, opposite Exits 306 and 307, is the International Exhibition of the Prophet’s Biography. This exhibition operates from 4:30 PM to 10:30 PM daily, offering a detailed look at Prophet Muhammad's life and teachings in a contemporary format.

In Annex 204 of the southern courtyards, visitors can find the Rare Manuscripts Exhibition. Open from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM, it showcases manuscripts, historical documents, and inscriptions that trace Islamic writing's evolution over time. This exhibition enriches visitors' cultural understanding by providing access to rare historical materials.
The Library of the Prophet's Mosque is accessible around the clock at Gate 10 on the western side. It includes various sections such as manuscripts, rare books, an audio library, and specialized art collections. This facility serves as a valuable resource for visitors seeking knowledge about Islamic history and culture.
Near the Uthman Gate lies the Manuscripts and Rare Books Department within the mosque. This department is a key destination for researchers interested in Islamic texts. It houses over 4,000 original manuscripts, nearly 60,000 digital versions, along with numerous photocopied manuscripts and Quran copies. The department operates in two shifts: morning from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and evening from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
