FISP Steering Committee To Hold Historic Annual Meeting In Fujairah From February 22 To 24, 2025

The International Federation of Philosophical Societies (FISP) Steering Committee will hold its annual meeting in an Arab country for the first time. This event, hosted by Philosophy House in Fujairah, is scheduled from February 22 to 24, 2025. It will gather 34 esteemed members from over 20 nations, marking a pivotal moment for philosophical dialogue in the Arab region.

Philosophy House – Fujairah, as FISP's first Arab member, will actively participate in the meeting. A major agenda item is implementing decisions from the FISP General Assembly. A significant proposal is to make Arabic an official language of the World Congress of Philosophy. This initiative highlights the importance of cultural inclusivity in philosophical discussions.

Following the committee meeting, a scholarly conference on global philosophical issues will occur on February 23–24, 2025. This conference is a collaboration with Philosophy House and aims to address contemporary challenges in philosophy. The event underscores the commitment to fostering intellectual exchange across diverse traditions.

Ahmed Al-Samahi, manager of Philosophy House, expressed pride in hosting this historic gathering.
