Inauguration Of First Government Sports School For Talented Athletes In Riyadh

The first Government Sports School for Talented Athletes at the middle school level was inaugurated by Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, Minister of Sport and chairman of the Mahd Sports Academy's board, alongside Minister of Education Yousef Al-Benyan. This significant collaboration between the ministries and the academy took place at the academy's headquarters in Riyadh.

The ceremony began with a speech from Abdullah bin Faisal Hammad, President of Mahd Sports Academy. He discussed the academy's achievements since its inception in 2021. The new sports school aims to provide both educational and sports training to talented individuals, helping them become role models in the sports sector.

The academy has enrolled 354 talented individuals in football, athletics, and martial arts during its first phase. It aims to identify and nurture one million talents across various sports disciplines. This initiative is part of a broader goal to establish itself as a global leader in discovering sports talents through its research and innovation center.

Abdullah bin Faisal Hammad also mentioned that these students will graduate with the knowledge and ambition needed to achieve championships and titles in future competitions. The school will build on the academy's previous successes, offering a comprehensive environment for talent development.

The partnership with the Ministry of Education includes several programs aimed at enhancing student capabilities. One such program is Tamheed, which involves physical and technical assessments for students in public schools. This program has gathered data on nearly half a million students, providing valuable insights into their abilities.

"These individuals will serve as role models for the sports sector," stated Abdullah bin Faisal Hammad during his speech. He emphasized that graduates would be equipped with both academic knowledge and athletic skills.

The inauguration marks a pivotal step towards integrating education with sports training, ensuring that young athletes receive holistic development opportunities. This initiative reflects a commitment to fostering future champions who can excel both academically and athletically.
