RTA Hosts Fintech Beyond Mobility Symposium To Explore Digital Finance And Payment Innovations

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) recently organised a fintech symposium centred on the future of digital finance and payment systems. The event, themed "RTA Fintech Beyond Mobility," gathered leaders from the Central Bank, finance, technology, and mobility sectors. It underscored the merging of fintech and mobility, highlighting RTA's dedication to innovation in creating intelligent and customer-focused mobility solutions.

Mohammed Yousuf Al Mudharreb, CEO of RTA’s Corporate Support Technology Services Sector (CTSS), opened the symposium. He welcomed guests from various financial institutions and expressed enthusiasm for the dedicated fintech forum. Al Mudharreb stated, "We are proud to host the ‘Fintech Beyond Mobility’ symposium, which reflects RTA’s commitment to driving innovation at the intersection of technology, finance, and transportation."

RTA's Fintech Beyond Mobility Symposium Highlights Innovations

Salahaldeen Mohamed Al Marzooqi, Director of Technology Strategy and Governance Department at RTA’s CTSS, initiated interactive sessions with a presentation titled "Simplify People Experience in Transport and Beyond: nol’s Transition to the FinTech." He explained nol card's evolution from Card Based Ticketing (CBT) to Account Based Ticketing (ABT), marking a significant step in fintech transformation.

Paul Kayrouz, Chief Fintech Officer at the Central Bank of the UAE, shared insights on initiatives promoting a cashless economy and enhancing the UAE's fintech ecosystem. Jan Pilbauer, CEO of Al Etihad Payments, discussed how UAE's payment landscape is evolving through Jaywan and Aani platforms. These initiatives are pivotal in advancing digital payments nationwide.

Mohammed Ali Yusuf, CEO of Fuze, explored stablecoins' transformative role and Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) in digital payments. His session provided valuable insights into how digital currencies are influencing future payment methods. The discussion highlighted how these innovations are reshaping financial transactions globally.

A panel discussion moderated by Shafique Ibrahim, Fintech Expert at RTA, examined key factors for successful fintech and digital banks. Industry leaders like Hasan Al Fardan from Al Fardan Group and Wael Fakharany from Edenred participated. They shared expertise on growth drivers in fintech and digital banking sectors.

Exploring Future Prospects

The event concluded with a tour of the RTA nol Digital Payment Excellence Centre for distinguished guests. This visit showcased advanced technologies driving Dubai's smart mobility vision. Attendees gained firsthand experience of innovations shaping future transport solutions.

The symposium successfully highlighted Dubai's commitment to integrating advanced fintech solutions into its transport infrastructure.
