Capital Market Authority Chairman Opens Financial Academy Forum 2024 In Riyadh With Focus On Sustainable Talent Growth
The Financial Academy Forum 2024 commenced in Riyadh, inaugurated by Mohammed bin Abdullah Elkuwaiz, Chairman of the Capital Market Authority. The event, themed "Sustainable Talent Growth," gathered key decision-makers and experts from both local and international financial sectors. Elkuwaiz highlighted the academy's role as a pivotal training hub, contributing significantly to the economy with its ambitious goals.
Elkuwaiz discussed the evolving landscape of the financial sector, noting changes in products, channels, and regulations. He emphasized the sector's integration with other economic areas. At the 24 Fintech conference, a workshop on financial planning and wealth management was held. A report was released detailing future development and investment strategies in these areas.

Elkuwaiz stressed that beyond core financial skills, expertise in data management, artificial intelligence, and open finance technology is crucial for added value. The Financial Academy has been instrumental since 2020, training over 50,000 individuals and certifying nearly 90,000 professionals through more than 49 programs.
The academy has formed partnerships with over 40 educational institutions globally. It serves as a platform for education and development within the financial sector. The forum's third edition aims to explore challenges and opportunities related to human resources in finance.
A new initiative between the Financial Academy and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute was launched at the forum. This aims to increase CFA certification holders in Saudi Arabia, enhancing its global standing in this field. Additionally, the academy received accreditation from the Chartered Insurance Institute as a professional development center.
The academy also became a global training partner for the Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology at UC Berkeley. This partnership grants Saudi professionals exclusive access to top-tier entrepreneurship programs. Furthermore, a collaboration with Swiss Re Institute was announced to train leaders in insurance through specialized programs like the Emerging Insurance Leaders Program.
Expanding Educational Opportunities
An alliance was formed between the Financial Academy, Excellence Academy, New York University, Paris School of Business, and CFA Institute. They launched an initiative titled "Executive Financial Managers of the 21st Century," aiming to qualify 60 executive managers in its first year.
