Finalists Announced For The Global Prompt Engineering Championship During Dubai AI Week

The Global Prompt Engineering Championship, organised by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI), is back for its second edition. This year, 24 finalists from 16 different countries will compete in the final round. The event will take place on 22–23 April at AREA 2071 in Emirates Towers as part of Dubai AI Week, which runs from 21 to 25 April.

Dubai AI Week is expected to attract over 10,000 participants from more than 100 countries. The programme includes over 150 sessions featuring keynotes, panel discussions, and workshops. More than 180 speakers will discuss the future of AI across various sectors. The week will also host more than 15 international delegations from countries such as South Korea, Canada, India, Australia, Germany, Italy, South Africa, and the United States.

Global Prompt Engineering Championship Finalists Revealed

Several significant events are scheduled during Dubai AI Week. These include the AI Retreat on 21 April at the Museum of the Future and the Dubai Assembly for AI from 21 to 25 April at Area 2071. Additionally, the Dubai AI Festival will occur on 23 and 24 April at Madinat Jumeirah. The Machines Can See Summit is set for the same dates at both the Museum of the Future and Area 2071.

The championship's judging panel consists of experts like Giuseppe Moscatello from Evolve and Hesham Al Olama from the Dubai Media Council. Other judges include Hana Kazim from Wiswas and Maitha Al Beloushi from Dubai Culture & Arts Authority. Rashed Al Awar from Dubai Police and Michael Bradbury from the Centre for Entertainment Arts (CEA) are also part of this esteemed panel.

The competition features four main categories: Art, Video, Coding, and Gaming. A total prize pool of AED 1 million is up for grabs. Finalists will demonstrate their skills using leading generative AI tools like ChatGPT and Midjourney AI. Each participant must create original content within a limited time frame using clear prompts.

Day one of the championship involves six participants from each category competing before a judging panel. Submissions are evaluated based on accuracy, quality, and creativity in content generation. At day's end, three top participants from each category advance to Day two's final round.

Global Participation and Industry Involvement

The championship has garnered over 3,800 entries from 125 countries. Finalists were selected through a peer voting system supported by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy. More than 25 global technology companies like Google, Microsoft, Meta, IBM, Gartner, and Swift will showcase their latest innovations during AI Week.

Visitors can explore over 140 interactive demos throughout the week. The event aims to highlight advancements in AI technology while fostering collaboration among industry leaders worldwide.

Dubai AI Week will also feature events like the HIMSS Executive Summit on 23 April at Emirates Towers Hotel and a hackathon on 25 April at Area 2071. Additionally, an International Conference on Education Quality will be held from 22 to 24 April at Grand Hyatt Dubai.

The event is under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He serves as Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister among other roles.
