Final Rounds Of Custodian Of The Two Holy Mosques Quran And Sunnah Competition Continue In Africa

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Competition for Memorizing the Holy Quran and the Prophetic Sunnah in Africa is ongoing. Organised by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, it is represented by the religious attaché at the Saudi embassy in Pretoria, South Africa. The event highlights Saudi Arabia's dedication to promoting Islamic teachings.

This year's competition includes 44 participants from 29 African nations. Among them, 29 are competing in Quran memorization, while 15 are focusing on the Sunnah category. These contestants advanced after succeeding in preliminary rounds that saw participation from 80,796 individuals across 1,840 Quran memorization associations and schools.

The contest features three categories for Quran memorization: memorizing the entire Quran, memorizing ten parts, and memorizing five parts. Additionally, there is a separate category dedicated to the Sunnah. This structure aims to encourage diverse levels of engagement with Islamic texts among participants.

On the second day of finals, judges evaluated remaining contestants from various countries. They assessed performances across different categories of both the Holy Quran and Sunnah. This process ensures a comprehensive evaluation of each participant's skills and understanding.

Saudi Arabia plays a significant role in fostering Islamic values through this competition. By organizing such events, it encourages youth to engage deeply with their faith through memorization and reflection on religious texts. This initiative underscores its commitment to serving Islam and Muslims globally.
