DebrisSolver Final Round At Space Debris Conference 2026 In Riyadh Showcases Global Innovation

The Space Debris Conference 2026 in Riyadh, scheduled for 26 to 27 January, will host the final round of the global DebrisSolver competition, a Saudi Space Agency initiative designed to advance practical responses to growing space debris challenges and support a safer orbital environment.

The event marks the conclusion of a months-long international contest that uses real orbital data from specialist companies. Finalists will showcase their proposals during the conference exhibition, giving policymakers, experts, and investors direct access to technical concepts that could support safer activity in low Earth orbit.

DebrisSolver Final Round in Riyadh

The DebrisSolver competition has drawn about 2,000 participants from 40 countries, including innovators, researchers, and startups. This wide response highlights a shared concern about debris risks and emphasises how coordinated international action is becoming essential for managing congestion in key orbital zones around Earth.

After a detailed assessment process, judges have selected the top 20 teams to progress to the final stage in Riyadh. These teams will present solutions that aim to reduce collision risks, improve tracking accuracy, and strengthen long-term sustainability for satellites and other spacecraft operating in low Earth orbit.

The competition is organised with support from several companies specialising in space and debris-related technologies, including Astroscale, LeoLabs, Slingshot Aerospace, and Aldoria. This cooperation between Saudi public institutions and private firms from abroad is intended to encourage applied innovation and share technical expertise across the space sector.

DebrisSolver reflects Saudi Arabia’s focus on research, innovation, and global talent development under the Saudi Space Agency. By promoting technological solutions that protect space as a shared resource, the initiative supports a secure and sustainable space future and helps the wider global space economy grow responsibly.
