SITE And LCGPA Collaborate To Localize Cybersecurity Technologies For Government Entities
Saudi Information Technology Company (SITE), a subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), has initiated Phase One of a project to adopt localized cybersecurity technologies. This initiative, in collaboration with the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority (LCGPA), aims to supply over 15 government entities with cybersecurity solutions developed by Rakeen, a SITE subsidiary. The agreement was formalized during the Future Investment Initiative (FII9) held in Riyadh from 27-30 October 2025.
The agreement is part of ongoing efforts by SITE and LCGPA to localize promising industries and transfer priority knowledge within Saudi Arabia. These efforts are supported by various government bodies and have successfully led to the localization of key national and strategic cybersecurity products through strong public-private partnerships. The technologies involved include Rakeen NGFW (Next Generation Firewalls), Rakeen IPS (Intrusion Prevention Systems), and Rakeen XDR (Extended Detection and Response).

Dr. Musaad Alaiban, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SITE, highlighted the significance of this collaboration: "In alignment with Saudi Vision 2030, this collaboration represents a significant turning point in the journey of localizing cybersecurity technologies of utmost importance nationally and strategically." He emphasized that this partnership is another successful outcome of SITE’s model for localizing critical cybersecurity technologies to enrich local technical content and solidify a sustainable cybersecurity sector in the Kingdom.
Minister Bandar Al-Khorayf, Chairman of the Board of Directors of LCGPA, stressed that this agreement is a strategic step within the Authority’s efforts to enhance the localization of high-tech industries. It aims to transfer advanced knowledge to Saudi Arabia in cybersecurity, one of the most vital sectors. He added that this step demonstrates synergy between government entities and major national companies to achieve Saudi Vision 2030 goals.
This collaboration seeks to build a robust ecosystem capable of developing national cybersecurity products. It aims to create quality opportunities that empower Saudi talent and enhance local capabilities in advanced technologies. This effort will help solidify Saudi Arabia’s position as a leading regional hub for cybersecurity technologies.
Rakeen's Role in Enhancing Local Technical Content
Rakeen was established as a SITE subsidiary to localize advanced cybersecurity technologies. Its mission is to contribute to developing local technical content while increasing operational and financial spending efficiency. The company plays a crucial role in supporting these initiatives by providing essential cybersecurity solutions tailored for the Kingdom's needs.
The agreement marks an important milestone in strengthening public-private partnerships within Saudi Arabia's technology sector. By focusing on localization, it ensures that critical knowledge and expertise remain within the country, fostering growth and innovation in cybersecurity.
