Saudi And Chinese Foreign Ministers Hold Fifth Session Of Political Committee To Strengthen Bilateral Ties
In a move to bolster Saudi-Chinese ties, Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and China's Minister of Foreign Affairs, visited Saudi Arabia. This visit was at the invitation of Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Saudi Arabia's Minister of Foreign Affairs. The discussions focused on enhancing the strategic partnership between both nations.
The meeting coincided with the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and China. Both ministers highlighted significant advancements in their relationship, particularly in economic, trade, investment, and energy sectors. They acknowledged that these developments have greatly benefited their respective populations.

During their talks, both sides expressed a strong commitment to supporting each other's vital interests. They emphasized the importance of mutual support for achieving security, stability, development, and prosperity in both countries. This aligns with the aspirations of their leaderships.
The Saudi delegation reiterated its commitment to the One-China policy. It recognized the People's Republic of China as the sole legitimate government representing all of China and affirmed that Taiwan is an integral part of Chinese territory.
The Chinese side voiced its support for strengthening Saudi-Iranian relations. It praised Saudi Arabia's leadership role in promoting regional and international security and stability. Additionally, they commended Saudi Vision 2030 for its economic advancements.
China also appreciated the outcomes from the Arab-China Riyadh Summit for Cooperation and Development held in December 2022. In return, Saudi Arabia expressed its backing for China's hosting of future summits with Arab nations and GCC countries in 2026.
Commitment to Global Issues
Both parties exchanged views on various regional and international issues. They agreed to enhance communication and coordination on these matters. A key focus was supporting efforts towards a comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue based on a two-state solution.
An agreement was signed during this visit to waive visas for holders of diplomatic, private, and service passports between both countries. This step aims to facilitate easier travel for officials from both nations.
Future Collaborations
The Chinese delegation expressed eagerness to participate in World Expo 2030 Riyadh hosted by Saudi Arabia. This reflects China's interest in furthering collaboration with Saudi Arabia on global platforms.
This visit underscores a shared vision for future cooperation across various sectors while reinforcing existing diplomatic ties between Saudi Arabia and China.
