Fifth Saudi Maritime And Logistics Congress Launches In Dammam To Enhance Global Logistics Position

The Saudi Maritime and Logistics Congress commenced in Dammam, inaugurated by Dr. Rumaih Al-Rumaih, Vice Minister of Transport and President of the Transport General Authority (TGA). This event, under the patronage of Eng. Saleh Al-Jasser, aims to enhance Saudi Arabia's role as a global logistics hub. The congress highlights initiatives leveraging the Kingdom's natural resources in ports and maritime services.

Dr. Al-Rumaih emphasised the importance of shipbuilding, repair, fishing, aquaculture, and maritime tourism. He noted that the Kingdom's industry strength lies in its infrastructure and skilled workforce. Their dedication will drive progress and create a sustainable future. The event also included signing a memorandum between TGA and Eastern Region Municipality for coastal transport.

Saudi Maritime Congress Begins in Dammam

The congress featured the launch of Seal Company's mobile monitoring room and announced the SeaTrade Maritime Award winner. The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) presented the Port Community System (PCS), offering over 200 automated services through a unified digital platform. This system aims to streamline transactions and data exchange among stakeholders in the port sector.

With participation from 60 speakers, the congress brings together expertise from various countries in maritime transport and logistics. These experts share insights and experiences to foster strategic investment partnerships. The event aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, aiming to position the Kingdom as a logistics hub connecting Asia, Africa, and Europe.

The congress program includes sessions on integrated logistics services, future supply chains, shipbuilding, and repair. Panel discussions cover digitisation in maritime transport, safety measures, energy transition for sustainability, workforce development, and proposals for industry enhancement. These discussions aim to sustain logistics services following best practices.

The National Strategy for Transport and Logistics Services guides these efforts to boost growth in maritime transport at local and regional levels. By focusing on strategic pathways for development, the congress seeks to explore new opportunities within these sectors.
