Fifth Meeting For Heads Of Saudi Missions Abroad Focuses On New Saudi Diplomacy And Vision 2030

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, recently hosted the fifth general meeting for heads of Saudi missions abroad. Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah was present at this event. The discussions focused on "new Saudi diplomacy," highlighting constants and developments in line with Vision 2030.

Interactive dialogues and presentations were a key feature of the meeting, exploring the ministry's strategies and initiatives. These sessions aimed to foster coordination between Saudi missions abroad and governmental bodies, facilitating an exchange of perspectives on foreign duties.

Saudi Missions Abroad Hold Fifth Meeting

The meeting delved into Saudi foreign policy priorities and the role of missions in achieving strategic objectives tied to Vision 2030. Administrative, financial, and digital initiatives were also discussed to enhance operational efficiency within these missions.

Several ministers and state officials attended the sessions. Notable attendees included Minister of Hajj and Umrah Tawfig Al-Rabiah, Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khateeb, Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih, Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal Alibrahim, and Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary.

Other prominent figures present were President of the Human Rights Commission Hala Al-Tuwaijri, Advisor at the Royal Court Fahad Toonsi, and Vice Minister of Sport Bader Al-Kadi. Senior officials from the foreign ministry also participated, including Vice Minister Waleed El Khereiji and Assistant Minister for Executive Affairs Abdulhadi Al-Mansouri.

The inaugural general meeting for heads of Saudi missions abroad occurred in Riyadh in 2006. This initial gathering focused on enhancing diplomatic action. The second meeting followed in 2010, addressing a five-year strategic plan for the ministry and its implementation by missions.

Historical Context

The third meeting took place in 2013, concentrating on reviewing work strategies and professional performance standards. The fourth meeting occurred in 2017 with discussions centred around ambassadors' messages.

This recent gathering underscored the importance of aligning diplomatic efforts with national goals outlined in Vision 2030. By focusing on strategic objectives and operational efficiency, Saudi Arabia aims to strengthen its global diplomatic presence.
