FIFA Introduces Special Transfer Window For Clubs Ahead Of Club World Cup 2025

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has introduced a special transfer window for the 32 clubs competing in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025. This window, from 1st to 10th June 2025, allows teams to register new players before the tournament begins. The initiative aims to address differences in player registration periods and domestic season schedules among participating countries.

Clubs can register players during this period, with the final squad submission deadline on 10th June. This ensures teams can bring newly signed players to the United States for the competition. An additional registration or replacement opportunity is available after the group stage, from 27th June to 3rd July 2025, under specific conditions.

The tournament will feature clubs from 20 national associations, including nations like the UAE, Argentina, Brazil, England, and Japan. The event will be the largest edition of the FIFA Club World Cup, starting on Saturday, 14th June 2025, at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. It will conclude on 13th July at MetLife Stadium.

Matches are scheduled across 11 US cities: Atlanta, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, New York/New Jersey, Orlando, Philadelphia, Seattle, and Washington D.C. The DAZN platform is set to be the exclusive global broadcaster for this tournament.

The changes follow amendments to the Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players approved by FIFA Council in October 2024. These adjustments provide clubs with more flexibility to enhance their squads. The aim is also to encourage participation from players whose contracts have expired and ensure top-tier talent is showcased.

This move allows clubs to strengthen their teams effectively while ensuring compliance with official registration periods. The opportunity for player registration or replacements after the group stage further supports this goal.
