Saudi Arabia Hosts Successful FIFA Series 2024 In Jeddah

The FIFA Series 2024 in Saudi Arabia recently concluded its series of friendly matches, a significant milestone as it marked the first occasion the Kingdom served as a host during the international FIFA days. The event, which took place from March 21 to March 26, saw eight national teams competing in Jeddah. The venues for these matches were the auxiliary stadiums of King Abdullah Sports City and Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Sports City, as announced by Yasser Al Misehal, President of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF).

The competition was divided into two groups. The first group comprised teams from Cape Verde (Confederation of African Football), Cambodia (Asian Football Confederation), Equatorial Guinea (Confederation of African Football), and Guyana (Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football). Meanwhile, the second group featured teams from Bermuda (Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football), Brunei Darussalam (Asian Football Confederation), Guinea (Confederation of African Football), and Vanuatu (Oceania Football Confederation).

Al Misehal lauded the event's success and highlighted the pivotal role played by Saudi talents in demonstrating the Kingdom's capability to host international sporting events. He emphasized that this tournament represents a joint effort between FIFA and the Saudi Federation aimed at fostering the development of international football.
