Fenaa Alawwal Forum's Inaugural Edition To Explore Art's Role In Times Of Change

Fenaa Alawwal (FAA) is hosting the first 'Muntada FAA' Forum from September 15 to 19, 2024. The event, themed 'Introspection: The Role of Contemporary Art Practices in a Time of Change,' aims to delve into modern artistic practices within Saudi Arabia. Co-created with afikra, 'Muntada' will highlight how collaborative and community-based art events foster broader community engagement.

The forum will feature five panel discussions involving 24 notable artists, creative thinkers, writers, and art experts. Topics will include the influence of Saudi artists on the Kingdom's global image and the role of youth culture in music, street art, and fashion. Additionally, discussions will cover navigating creativity within structured environments and the rise of art districts in Saudi urban centres.

The fourth day will offer a unique 'Kitchen Lab' experience led by a renowned chef. This interactive session will allow participants to engage directly with culinary arts. The forum will conclude with a 'Culinary Performance,' blending food and art in an engaging finale.

The entire program for the 'Muntada FAA' Forum is available on Fenaa Alawwal's social media accounts. Tickets can be purchased through the Discover Culture platform at https://dc.moc.gov.sa/home/ar/muntada-faa/.

Cultural Hubs

One panel discussion will explore cultural hubs and the emergence of art districts in Saudi cities. These hubs are becoming vital spaces for artistic expression and community interaction. The forum aims to discuss how these areas contribute to the Kingdom's cultural landscape.

The forum represents FAA's mission to create an inspiring space for exchanging ideas and experiences. Located in Riyadh's Diplomatic Quarter, FAA seeks to be a unique cultural and creative destination in Saudi Arabia.

In addition to panel discussions, there will be sessions focusing on the intersection of food and art. These sessions aim to show how culinary arts can complement visual arts, creating a holistic cultural experience for attendees.

The event underscores FAA's commitment to fostering creativity and community engagement through diverse artistic practices. By bringing together thinkers, creators, and individuals with varied talents, FAA aims to enrich Saudi Arabia's cultural scene.
