UAE Launches National Youth Agenda 2031 To Empower Future Generations

The Federal Youth Authority (FYA) has introduced the "National Youth Agenda 2031." This initiative aims to position Emirati youth as exemplary figures both locally and globally. The focus is on fostering thought leadership, values, and significant contributions to economic and social development. By empowering young talents, the agenda aligns with the aspirations of the nation's leadership to build a promising future for upcoming generations.

Dr. Sultan Al Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, highlighted the importance of leadership in supporting youth. He stated, "The vision of the wise leadership is a key driver to support youth and urge them to excel in various development fields, considering them the main partner in building the present and future of the nation, and providing all the potential and capabilities that contribute to strengthening their capabilities, developing their expertise, and stimulating their energies for creativity, excellence, and leadership, and active participation in all initiatives, programs, and plans that enhance the state's global competitiveness in various sectors."

The agenda outlines five strategic goals for Emirati youth. These include becoming major contributors to national economic growth and effectively participating in community development while upholding Emirati values. Additionally, they aim to drive positive global change and serve as international role models. Mastery of advanced technologies and future skills is also a priority.

Another goal is ensuring that youth enjoy high levels of health and quality of life. The agenda seeks to qualify over 100 young Emiratis to represent the UAE in global organisations related to key national sectors. It also aims for 100 percent suitable career pathways for youth in the labour market.

The launch event saw attendance from officials across public and private sectors. Heads and members of local, ministerial, and institutional youth councils were present alongside representatives from strategic partners. This diverse participation underscores the collaborative effort required to achieve the agenda's ambitious goals.

The agenda's initiatives are designed to create an environment that nurtures young people's abilities. By providing necessary skills to tackle future challenges, it encourages effective community involvement. The goal is also to place the UAE among the top 10 countries globally regarding youth quality of life.

Enhancing National Consciousness

One of the key objectives is enhancing national consciousness among Emirati youth. Ensuring pride in their identity and national affiliation is crucial. The agenda also aims to make basic services easily accessible for young people in the UAE.

Additionally, there is a focus on doubling projects for youth in promising sectors. This includes increasing academic and vocational qualifications that prepare them with future skills needed in the labour market.

The agenda's comprehensive approach reflects a commitment to nurturing young talents while aligning with national aspirations. By focusing on these strategic goals, it aims to build a brighter future where Emirati youth play a pivotal role in shaping their nation's progress.
