Fatima Bint Mubarak Women’s Sports Award 2025 Celebrates Exceptional Female Athletes And Their Achievements
H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, highlighted the significance of the Fatima bint Mubarak Women’s Sports Award. He stated it serves as a prominent Arab model, celebrating outstanding achievers and encouraging female athletes to excel. This initiative aligns with the UAE's strategy to empower women and foster an environment conducive to their success.
The achievements of the Fatima bint Mubarak Women’s Sports Award are attributed to H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak's continuous support and wise directives. Known as the "Mother of the Nation," she is Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation. Her guidance has been pivotal in advancing women’s sports locally and across the Arab region.
During a ceremony at Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental in Abu Dhabi, H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed crowned winners of the ninth edition of this award for 2025. Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan Al Saud was honoured as Sports Personality of the Year for her contributions to women's sports in the Arab world. She also received recognition for her role in sports diplomacy.
Sheikh Nahyan praised Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan for her significant support. As Chairwoman of both the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy and Abu Dhabi and Al Ain Ladies Clubs, her efforts have strengthened the award's prominence in the Arab world. This platform now stands out for honouring champions across various sports disciplines.
The award recognised Egyptian athlete Fareeda Mohamed Ahmed Khalil as Best Arab Woman Athlete, while Emirati shooting champion Salma Haitham Rashid Al Marri was named Best Emirati Woman Athlete. Additionally, Emirati Paralympic track and field champion Thikra Ahmed Al Kaabi received recognition as Best Paralympic Woman Athlete.
The Sharjah Women’s Athletics Team secured Best Women’s Team honours for their relay race victory. Emirati Mariam Hassan Al Marzouqi was awarded Best Sports Mother, while Saudi national Maha Yousif Al Khalifa was acknowledged as Best Sports Media Influencer.
Celebrating Young Athletes
Emirati archer Mona Faisal Al Shara, a national archery champion and member of Sharjah Women’s Sports Club, won Best Young Woman Athlete. Tunisian judo coach Nihal Reda Mohammed received recognition as Best Coach for her contributions to developing talent in judo.
H.H. Sheikh Nahyan congratulated all winners across categories, acknowledging their well-deserved recognition for elevating Arab sports through their efforts and achievements. He expressed wishes for their continued excellence and ambition in reaching new milestones at local, regional, and international levels.
