The Fashion Commission, in collaboration with Vogue Business, has wrapped up the Tokyo Investment Roadshow tour. This event brought together investors, decision-makers, and creative leaders from Japan and the region to discuss Saudi Arabia's rapidly growing fashion sector. The focus was on exploring investment opportunities within this burgeoning industry.

During the tour, the commission unveiled its "State of Fashion Sector in Saudi Arabia 2025" report via the Fashion Futures platform. This annual report is a key industry reference, offering insights into the creative economy, consumer trends, talent empowerment, and global shifts shaping the sector. It highlighted that Saudi Arabia’s fashion market is projected to reach $36.8 billion by 2025, making it the largest in the Gulf region.

Saudi Fashion Growth Showcased in Tokyo

The roadshow featured an investment session titled "Investing in Saudi Arabia: Funding the Future of Fashion." Representatives from the Fashion Commission, Ministry of Investment, and Cultural Development Fund explored funding opportunities and new regulations. They discussed how both private and government sectors are playing an increasing role in this growth.

Statistics presented during the event revealed that women comprise 55% of the workforce in Saudi Arabia's fashion sector. Notably, 44% of these women hold management positions, surpassing national averages. Additionally, 96% of Saudi consumers are aware of sustainability concepts, with 64% considering them when making purchases.

The commission introduced a special manga version of their report for Japanese audiences. Developed with Manga Productions, a subsidiary of Mohammed Bin Salman Foundation (Misk), this manga presents Saudi Arabia’s fashion vision through a visually engaging narrative. It reflects a commitment to cultural dialogue and storytelling innovation.

A data-driven panel discussion at the event delved into key findings from the report. Experts and designers contributed their insights on various aspects of the fashion industry. The Tokyo tour emphasized strengthening ties between Saudi Arabia and Japan in creative industries like fashion.

Building on Global Initiatives

This roadshow builds on previous initiatives by the Fashion Commission in major global fashion capitals such as London. Organized with support from the Ministry of Investment and Cultural Development Fund, it aims to attract international investments and provide easier access to opportunities within Saudi Arabia's thriving fashion sector.

The event served as a strategic platform to foster partnerships and boost cultural and commercial exchange between Saudi Arabia and Japan. With fashion emerging as a vital pillar of international collaboration, these efforts underscore deepening ties between both nations.
