Faraday Future Launches First Regional Facility In Ras Al Khaimah With AED 30 Million Investment

Faraday Future (FF), a California-based electric vehicle manufacturer, is establishing its first Middle Eastern base in Ras Al Khaimah. This facility, located in the Al Hamra area within the Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ), will cover around 108,000 square feet. It will include an office, an engineering workshop, and an operational hub. An initial investment of AED30 million supports this project, which aims to create 200 jobs in various sectors.

The new facility is a significant part of FF's global expansion strategy. It marks a crucial step in transforming the regional electric vehicle landscape while enhancing Ras Al Khaimah's status as a centre for advanced mobility solutions. The expansion is led by Faraday X (FX), FF’s brand focused on making luxury electric vehicles accessible to all with cutting-edge technology.

This strategic base will support operations across GCC countries and plans to extend into Europe and North Africa. Matthias Aydt, Global Co-CEO of Faraday Future, stated, "This facility represents a tangible start for both FF and FX in the region." He highlighted Ras Al Khaimah's infrastructure and leadership as key factors supporting their goal of building a sustainable mobility ecosystem.

RAKEZ has been instrumental in facilitating Faraday Future’s entry into the region by providing comprehensive support for infrastructure setup and regulatory processes. Ramy Jallad, RAKEZ Group CEO, remarked that Faraday Future's arrival signifies more than just launching a facility; it initiates a transformative chapter in regional mobility.

The UAE aims for 50% of new cars sold by 2050 to be electric or hybrid. Government incentives like free charging stations and reduced registration fees support this goal. Jallad expressed pride in RAKEZ being the launchpad for Faraday Future’s Middle East journey, supporting innovators reshaping industries through sustainability.

The project is currently under construction, with operations expected to begin in the second half of 2025. In the long term, FF plans to enhance its regional research and development capabilities and establish a local supply chain ecosystem based in Ras Al Khaimah.

Aydt also mentioned that they are proud to build a facility that not only serves as a gateway to the region but also has the potential to create up to 200 skilled jobs. This initiative aligns with the UAE's vision for sustainable transportation solutions.
