Book lovers of all ages are gathering at the Riyadh International Book Fair. This year, the event aligns with International Translation Day, celebrated on September 30. Saudi Arabia has been proactive in translation, creating associations and initiatives to support industry leaders. The Translation Association is a key participant in the fair, promoting the translation sector within the Kingdom.

The Translation Association organises competitions and offers consultations to language specialists. It also helps create career opportunities and promotes translation as a cultural bridge. The Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission has played a vital role in supporting translators and language experts.

The "Tarjem" initiative has significantly enhanced Saudi Arabia's translation movement. It enriches Arabic content by incorporating valuable materials from various languages. This initiative also supports academic translation efforts within Saudi universities.

The commission established the Arab Observatory for Translation to provide insights into translation activities. By using approved documentation standards, it creates a digital database that helps agencies plan their strategies effectively. This effort aims to develop a unified national plan for translation in Saudi Arabia.
