FANA Leaders Gather in Dubai to Forge Stronger Arab Media Collaboration
Mohamed Jalal Alrayssi, the Director-General of the Emirates News Agency (WAM) and President of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA), led a significant meeting on Tuesday in Dubai, coinciding with the World Government Summit (WGS) 2024. This gathering brought together key figures in the Arab news sector, including Dr. Fatima Al Salem, FANA Vice President and Director-General of the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA); Abdulla Buhejji, Director-General of Bahrain News Agency (BNA), and Dr. Farid Ayar, Secretary-General of FANA.
The meeting's agenda focused on enhancing cooperation and coordination among FANA member news agencies. Discussions revolved around sharing experiences, knowledge, and best practices to advance the technical skills of their teams. Additionally, strategies for optimizing the Federation's operations and improving collaborative efforts were thoroughly explored.

Alrayssi highlighted that this was FANA's inaugural meeting following its General Assembly in November 2023, which occurred during the 2nd edition of the Global Media Congress in Abu Dhabi. He emphasized that the session aimed at brainstorming ideas to elevate the Federation's capabilities and overall performance.
The FANA President elaborated on the Federation's commitment to enhancing the quality of services provided by Arab news agencies to their audiences. This comes in response to the rapid advancements in media and technology sectors. The Federation is also keen on developing new strategies to help its member agencies stay abreast of these developments and challenges.
FANA, comprising national news agencies from 18 Arab countries, strives to fortify connections between its members. It aims to facilitate news exchange, expand reach within Arab countries and internationally, and improve member performance through experience sharing, advice, and organizing regular joint meetings.
