Family Care Authority Advocates For Integrated And Sustainable Family Care Model At Social Care Forum
The Family Care Authority (FCA) recently wrapped up its involvement in the second Social Care Forum, hosted by the Department of Community Development. This event took place from 24th to 25th September at Hilton Abu Dhabi – Yas Island. The forum, themed "Future Ready Social Care: People, Practice, and Policy," provided a strategic platform for FCA to advocate for integrated, family-focused policies essential for sustainable social care systems.
Salama Ajlan Al Ameemi, Director-General of FCA, participated in a high-level panel discussing global social care policies. She highlighted Abu Dhabi's approach to family care and emphasised the importance of placing families at the core of policy-making to enhance resilience. "At the Family Care Authority, we believe that families must be at the centre of every policy decision," she stated.

In another session titled "Wellbeing for those Who Care," Asma Al Azri stressed the importance of ensuring social care professionals' well-being. She noted that mental health programmes and continuous training are crucial for maintaining their effectiveness. Al Azri explained that these initiatives directly improve service quality for families and individuals.
The forum coincided with the UAE’s Year of Community 2025, providing an opportunity to align visions and build partnerships for a more inclusive future in Abu Dhabi's social care sector. Salama Al Ameemi remarked on this alignment as vital for turning challenges into opportunities through forward-thinking policies.
Dr. Fadwa Al Mughairbi, Advisor to the Director-General’s Office, along with other specialists like Salma Al Mansoori and Sara Alahbabi, also attended. Their participation underscored FCA’s commitment to fostering a cohesive society through collaborative efforts with partners led by the Department of Community Development.
Al Azri further elaborated on how investing in care providers' support leads to a human-centred system capable of meeting increasing demands. "By investing in their support and empowerment, we build a more human-centred and efficient system capable of meeting growing needs," she said.
The event featured key figures from FCA's leadership team, including Asma Sulaiman Al Azri and others who contributed insights into enhancing social care practices. Their discussions focused on creating resilient systems that adapt to evolving societal needs while prioritising family welfare.
The forum served as an essential gathering for exchanging ideas on improving social care frameworks in Abu Dhabi. It reinforced FCA's dedication to developing sustainable solutions by integrating family-centric approaches into policy-making processes across various sectors.
FCA's active participation in this forum highlights its ongoing efforts to strengthen social care systems through collaboration and innovation. By focusing on family-oriented strategies and supporting care providers' well-being, FCA aims to create a robust foundation for future-ready social services in Abu Dhabi.
