Saudi Delegation Led By Family Affairs Council At World Women’s Conference Anniversary
The Family Affairs Council led Saudi Arabia's delegation at a significant meeting marking the 30th anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women. This event took place alongside the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. Dr. Maimoonah Al-Khalil, Secretary-General of the Family Affairs Council, headed the delegation and delivered a statement on behalf of Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Al-Khalil underscored the importance of international partnerships and sharing expertise to empower women and girls. She stressed that empowering women should occur within a framework that supports families as society's core unit. The Kingdom's achievements under Saudi Vision 2030 were also highlighted, showcasing progress in women's empowerment.

Under Saudi Vision 2030, women's participation in the labour force has increased to over 36%. Additionally, women now hold nearly 42% of leadership positions. Recent legislative changes have further strengthened women's rights in the Kingdom. These developments reflect significant strides towards gender equality and empowerment.
The Saudi delegation also engaged in a high-level side event titled "Better Together: Global Solidarity Rooted in the Family." Organized by Turkiye and co-sponsored by several countries, including Saudi Arabia, this event focused on the family's role in promoting social stability, cohesion, and sustainable development.
This participation underscores Saudi Arabia's commitment to enhancing international cooperation for family-supportive policies. The aim is to build cohesive societies capable of addressing current and future challenges effectively.
