Falcon Technic Achieves GCAA CAR 145 Approval For MRO Operations In Dubai
The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has granted CAR 145 approval to Falcon Technic for its Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) operations. This significant development was announced at the Middle East and North Africa Business Aviation Association (MEBAA) Show 2024. It highlights the UAE's leadership in aviation innovation and excellence.
Falcon Technic's new MRO facility spans 13,705 square metres at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Aerospace Hub in Dubai. Equipped with advanced technology, it can service various aircraft, including the Airbus A380. The facility also caters to VIP aircraft owners with private lounges, advanced workshops, an in-house design studio, and premium maintenance services.

Saif Mohamed Al Suwaidi, Director General of the GCAA, praised Falcon Technic’s accomplishment: "This CAR 145 approval is a testament to Falcon Technic's dedication to excellence in aviation maintenance. The GCAA is proud to support initiatives that advance the UAE's aviation ecosystem, positioning the nation at the forefront of global aviation standards and services. This milestone reflects our shared commitment to fostering innovation, operational excellence, and sustainable growth within the sector."
The CAR 145 approval allows Falcon Technic to service its Falcon Luxe fleet of Bombardier Global Express series aircraft. The company plans to expand approvals for other aircraft types like Bombardier Challengers, Embraers, and Falcon 2000 Ex Easy models. By 2025, they aim for CAR 145 Base Maintenance approval and EASA PART 145 certification.
Aqeel Ahmed Al Zarouni, Assistant Director General of the GCAA, highlighted this achievement's importance: "Falcon Technic’s approval under CAR 145 underscores the UAE's commitment to maintaining world-class aviation standards. This achievement not only enhances Dubai’s reputation as a global aviation hub but also strengthens the UAE’s role in advancing the aviation sector regionally and internationally."
Falcon Technic is expanding its services with specialized shops for interiors, wheels and brakes, non-destructive testing (NDT), batteries, and aircraft painting. These facilities aim to provide comprehensive MRO solutions for both Falcon Luxe’s fleet and third-party operators.
Strategic Positioning for Growth
Tahnoon Saif, CEO of Mohammed Bin Rashid Aerospace Hub, emphasized the new facility's significance: "The addition of Falcon Technic’s MRO facility aligns with Dubai’s vision to be a leader in private aviation. This state-of-the-art infrastructure reflects our dedication to providing innovative services and strengthening the UAE’s role as a hub for aviation excellence."
With private jet traffic at Mohammed Bin Rashid Aerospace Hub expected to reach 18,000 flights by late 2024, Falcon Technic is well-positioned to meet this rising demand. Their efforts contribute significantly to the UAE's goal of becoming a global private aviation hub.
