Expo Centre Sharjah Highlights Global Leadership At World Travel Market London 2025

Expo Centre Sharjah took part in the 45th World Travel Market (WTM) in London from 4th to 6th November 2025. This event is a major gathering for the travel and tourism industry. The 2025 edition was the largest yet, featuring over 4,000 exhibitors from 180 countries and drawing more than 46,000 professionals and visitors worldwide.

The Expo Centre Sharjah delegation, led by CEO Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, participated under the Sharjah Pavilion. This was part of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) group, which included 19 public and private entities. Their aim was to highlight Sharjah's strengths in tourism and its growing role in regional and international markets.

Sharjah's Leadership at World Travel Market 2025

Saif Mohammed Al Midfa emphasised that their participation added strategic value to efforts to establish Sharjah as a leading business tourism destination. He stated that Expo Centre Sharjah is a key driver in this sector, using its advanced facilities and competitive advantages to attract global attention.

Al Midfa noted the significance of participating at this time due to the projected growth in travel and tourism. According to the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), this sector is expected to generate US$11.7 trillion globally by 2025, making up 10.3 percent of global GDP.

The delegation aimed to form new global partnerships and attract more international exhibitions to Sharjah. This would support the local economy and contribute to sustainable economic diversification efforts within the emirate.

At WTM London 2025, Expo Centre Sharjah held numerous business meetings with event attendees. These discussions focused on enhancing cooperation, sharing expertise in exhibition management, and highlighting investment opportunities in Sharjah’s business tourism sector.

Expanding International Networks

The Centre’s team also engaged with various international organisations in exhibitions and tourism sectors. They explored potential long-term partnerships aimed at expanding Expo Centre Sharjah’s global network and securing more high-profile events.

This initiative seeks to strengthen Sharjah’s position as a top regional destination for major exhibitions and business events. By doing so, they aim to ensure that exhibitions remain a core pillar supporting broader economic progress in Sharjah.

Expo Centre Sharjah showcased its advanced infrastructure at WTM London 2025. They highlighted their ability to host large-scale international events through integrated service offerings. This effort underscores their commitment to reinforcing the exhibitions sector as part of their strategic focus on capitalising on global growth trends.
