Countdown To Expo 2030 Riyadh Begins With Cultural Showcase 'From Osaka To Riyadh'

The 'From Osaka to Riyadh' cultural event at Expo Arena Matsuri previewed Expo 2030 Riyadh. It attracted 15,000 visitors and showcased a vibrant mix of Saudi and Japanese music and culture. The performances highlighted the collaboration between the two nations, featuring high-energy acts with innovative light, laser, and hologram effects.

As one of the final events before the October 13 closing ceremony, this showcase marked Riyadh's transition as the next World Expo host city. It set the stage for the BIE flag handover, officially transferring hosting duties to Saudi Arabia. This event also demonstrated Riyadh's capability to host large international gatherings in preparation for Expo 2030.

Expo 2030 Riyadh is scheduled to run from , to , welcoming over 42 million visitors from 197 countries and 29 organisations. The event will cover 6 million square meters and feature five thematic zones. These zones will focus on innovative solutions for a sustainable and inclusive future under the theme ‘Foresight for Tomorrow’.

The six-month-long Expo will serve as a global hub for innovation and collaboration. After its conclusion, the site will transform into a permanent global village. This transformation aims to leave a lasting impact on Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and beyond.
