Expo 2020 Dubai Museum Opens To Public On International Museum Day

Expo City Dubai has announced the public opening of the Expo 2020 Dubai Museum on Saturday, 18th May, coinciding with International Museum Day. To mark this occasion, visitors from 18-19 May can enjoy complimentary entry to the new museum and the city’s three Stories of Nations exhibitions. Additionally, a 50 percent discount is offered on other attractions such as Alif, Terra, the Women’s and Vision Pavilions, and Garden in the Sky.

The Expo 2020 Dubai Museum pays tribute to an event that showcased global collaboration and innovation. It offers a journey through the entire World Expo project, featuring engaging mixed media exhibits and interactive content for young visitors. The museum provides a glimpse into the visitor experience, starting from the UAE’s first involvement in World Expos in the 1970s.

The museum highlights everything from Expo 2020’s inception and bid, masterplan design, site construction, and the challenges posed by the pandemic and postponement. It also covers the historic opening ceremony and the six-month event. Celebrating Expo 2020’s scale and significance, it honours the World Expo’s impacts and ongoing legacy.

Guided Tours and Additional Features

Guided tours are available every 30 minutes. Located in the Opportunity District, the museum also features a shop with Expo 2020 memorabilia, including country stamps for Expo ‘passports’. The site includes an Expo 2020 library and rentable meeting spaces.

Ticketing Information

From 20th May onwards, the museum will be included in Expo City’s one-day Attractions Pass, costing AED 120. Alternatively, a combined ticket to the Expo 2020 Museum and the three Stories of Nations exhibits is available. Prices are AED 50 for ages 12 and above, AED 40 for children between ages 4 and 11, and free for ages 3 and under.
