Experts Gather In Madinah To Address Mass Gatherings And Emergency Medicine Challenges

The Second International Conference on Mass Gatherings and Emergency Medicine, hosted by the Madinah Chamber of Commerce, brings together medical professionals to explore advancements in handling large crowds and emergencies. This event also addresses the challenges faced by healthcare workers and authorities in such situations.

Dr. Mohammad Alfaifi, Chairman of the conference and Consultant of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Alfaisal University, highlighted that this three-day event includes sessions featuring papers and research from both local and international speakers. These discussions aim to enhance the skills of medical staff in preparation for major events like the World Expo 2030 and the 2034 World Cup.

Among the notable speakers was Professor Abdo Khoury, who shared insights on managing challenges during the Paris Olympics. Dr. Muna Al-Musleh from Qatar discussed her experiences with preparations for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. These presentations provided valuable lessons on handling large-scale international events.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research presented a paper on using AI for crowd management during Hajj and Umrah seasons. This innovative approach aims to improve safety and efficiency in managing massive gatherings.

Dr. Alfaifi emphasized that such conferences are crucial for discussing strategies related to crowd management, emergencies, and best practices. He noted Saudi Arabia's significant role in this field due to its extensive experience with Hajj and Umrah seasons.
