Euro-Arab Medical Congress Opens In Abu Dhabi To Address Mental Health And Rehabilitation Solutions

The Euro-Arab Medical Congress commenced at the Abu Dhabi Energy Centre, aligning with World Mental Health Day. This event attracts over 800 experts from 30 nations, featuring 60 international speakers who will present 30 accredited research papers. It acts as a significant platform for exchanging knowledge among ministers, decision-makers, and healthcare leaders from Europe and the Arab world.

Organised under the theme "Applied Solutions in Rehabilitation Medicine and Psychology," the congress is a collaborative effort by the Zayed Authority for People of Determination and the Emirates Scholar Center for Research and Studies. Support comes from the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and the Abu Dhabi Convention and Exhibition Bureau, in partnership with both the Emirates Medical Association and the European Medical Association.

Euro-Arab Medical Congress Launches in Abu Dhabi

The event aims to enhance global cooperation in mental health, rehabilitation, and holistic care while establishing Abu Dhabi as a leading centre for medical research and innovation. Dr Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Emirates Scholar Center for Research and Studies, stated that hosting this congress highlights Abu Dhabi’s role as a hub for knowledge exchange and innovative healthcare solutions.

Abdullah Al Humaidan, Director-General of the Zayed Authority for People of Determination, mentioned that this event aligns with UAE leadership's vision of fostering an inclusive society prioritising human well-being. He noted that recommendations from previous congresses have been implemented, such as smart rehabilitation initiatives, ongoing medical education programmes, and international research collaborations.

Dr Fawaz Habbal, Secretary-General of the Emirates Scholar Center, stressed that the congress serves as a platform to apply scientific research outcomes for societal benefit. He said focusing on rehabilitation medicine and psychology aligns with their strategy to advance knowledge-based healthcare systems.

Innovative Sessions

The two-day programme includes over 15 sessions covering psychiatry, neuroscience, and rehabilitation medicine. Topics include innovations in treating depression and anxiety, AI-driven recovery systems, and personalised therapy for children, elderly individuals, and People of Determination. The congress further strengthens Abu Dhabi’s reputation as an international hub for scientific research, medical innovation, and humanitarian collaboration.

Additionally, Abdullah Al Humaidan announced the launch of the Psychology Dictionary for Scientific Research Award. This initiative is part of the UAE-Russian Dictionary Project in collaboration with Ural Federal University and the Emirates Scholars Center. Winners will be announced at the event's conclusion.

This gathering underscores UAE’s commitment to empowering People of Determination by ensuring their social inclusion and enhancing their quality of life through innovative healthcare solutions.
