EtihadWE Champions AI And Clean Energy Projects At MOEI Innovation Week
During the recent "Innovation Week," organized by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MOEI) and coinciding with "UAE Innovates 2024," Etihad Water and Electricity (EtihadWE) took the opportunity to display a series of its pioneering initiatives. The event, spanning three days, was a platform for showcasing innovative ideas aimed at supporting the objectives of the UAE Centennial 2071. Eng. Yousif Ahmed Al Ali, CEO of EtihadWE, emphasized the significance of their participation, highlighting the shared interests and strategic initiatives between MOEI and EtihadWE.
The Innovation Week served as an excellent venue for EtihadWE to present its leading initiatives that align with its strategic objectives across various fields. Among these were the integration of "ChatGPT" artificial intelligence technology to offer an interactive customer service platform and an advanced visual communication system enabling customers to remotely access certain services.

Furthermore, EtihadWE's commitment to clean energy was evident in its showcase of solar-powered golf carts designed for internal transport. These carts are not only eco-friendly but are also equipped with innovative features for fire detection, gas leak detection, and air quality monitoring. The company is exploring the potential of converting these vehicles to operate on kinetic energy. Additionally, a mobile charging vehicle concept was introduced for providing emergency charging services to electric vehicles on the road.
An advanced sensor technology for water tanks was another highlight from EtihadWE at the event. This technology is designed to send immediate alerts upon detecting changes in water color or chemical properties, with the capability to automatically close valves to prevent unfit water from being pumped for consumption. This is complemented by a system for the remote periodic inspection of high-pressure pipes, further emphasizing EtihadWE's dedication to innovation in ensuring water safety and quality.
The participation of EtihadWE in the Innovation Week underscores the company's proactive approach in exploring and implementing the latest technologies and innovations. By engaging with experts in the sector and participating in discussions, EtihadWE continues to reinforce its commitment to strategic objectives that support sustainable development and innovation in line with the UAE Centennial 2071 goals.
