Etihad Water And Fujairah GIS Centre Sign MoU To Enhance Geospatial Data Management
Etihad Water and Electricity (EtihadWE) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Fujairah Geographical Information Systems Centre. This agreement aims to boost innovation and digital transformation in geospatial systems and data management. The signing took place during GITEX 2025 in Dubai, attended by Sheikh Eng. Mohammed bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, Director General of Fujairah Digital Government.
The MoU focuses on enhancing institutional integration and facilitating the exchange of data and expertise in GIS. This will improve urban planning efficiency, infrastructure development, and support digital services across Fujairah. It also aims to strengthen electronic connectivity between the two entities to optimise technological resources for digital transformation.

This partnership empowers EtihadWE to improve network management, streamline field operations, and enhance decision-making speed and accuracy in its projects. Eng. Salim Mohamed Binrabeeh, Chief Commercial Officer of EtihadWE, highlighted that this collaboration reflects the company's commitment to advancing digital transformation through geospatial data.
Dr. Ahmed Hassan Al Murshidi, Director General of the Fujairah GIS Centre, emphasised that this partnership is a strategic step towards developing Fujairah’s geospatial data infrastructure. It enables secure and systematic data sharing among entities, supporting sustainable development and improving quality of life across the Emirate.
The collaboration aligns with UAE Vision 2031, which aspires for a sustainable, digitally integrated society fostering innovation and institutional excellence. By leveraging geospatial data, this partnership supports the nation’s goals for long-term development and smart governance.
