Etihad Rail Links to Sharjah Station

H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed emphasized the pivotal role of Etihad Rail in developing the UAE National Rail Network. He highlighted the strategic importance of connecting Sharjah to this network, noting its potential to facilitate easier movement between Emirates and enhance connectivity for residential communities.

The connection to Sharjah's passenger station is expected to significantly benefit daily commuters, especially university students traveling from various emirates. With an estimated 14,000 passengers anticipated on weekdays, this development marks a leap forward in public transportation within the UAE.

Strategically located near University City, the Sharjah passenger station is poised to serve as a vital hub, providing convenient access to key facilities and landmarks across Sharjah and beyond. This initiative not only promises to reduce travel times between stations but also aligns with global standards for competitive passenger transport services.

The UAE's national railway network spans over 900 kilometres and aims to connect 11 cities and regions from Al Sila to Fujairah. This includes major areas such as Al Ruwais, Al Mirfa, Fujairah, Sharjah, Al Dhaid, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai. The development reflects the UAE's vision for a future-ready transportation infrastructure that meets the needs of its growing population and economic landscape.
