Etihad Cargo Enhances China-UAE Links With SF Airlines Partnership Expansion

Etihad Cargo, the logistics division of Etihad Airways, has strengthened its collaboration with China's SF Airlines. This partnership aims to increase flight frequency between their major hubs in Abu Dhabi and Ezhou.

Starting from 15th July 2024, Etihad Cargo will operate two freighters between Abu Dhabi and Ezhou. This move connects China to Etihad's global network through its Abu Dhabi hub. Additionally, SF Airlines will add another freighter from Ezhou, resulting in five weekly flights between the two cities.

New China-UAE Cargo Routes Launched

The partnership will also introduce a new weekly freighter service between Shenzhen and Abu Dhabi. This addition marks the fifth gateway destination in Etihad Cargo's Chinese network. Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport is China's third-largest cargo airport and has ranked among the world's top 20 by cargo volume since 2021.

The increased flight frequency between Ezhou and Abu Dhabi, along with the new Shenzhen service, will provide over 200 tonnes of additional capacity. This brings the total weekly available capacity from this partnership to 630 tonnes.

Stanislas Brun, Vice President Cargo of Etihad Cargo, stated, "By expanding this strategic partnership with SF Airlines, Etihad Cargo's partners and customers will have greater access to strategic markets in China, the UAE, and destinations across Etihad's global network. This ongoing collaboration will contribute to the broader economic and strategic objectives of both the UAE and China."

Strategic Market Access

Robert Zhang, Commercial Director of SF Airlines, expressed enthusiasm about the expanded routes. He said, "We are excited to announce that the cooperated routes between Etihad Cargo and SF Airlines will expand to six flights per week starting from July, as our two companies celebrate the one-year anniversary of our partnership."

This expansion aims to boost cargo connectivity and capacity between China, the UAE, and other global destinations. The enhanced services are expected to support broader economic goals for both countries.

The collaboration signifies a significant step in improving air freight services between these regions. It highlights both airlines' commitment to enhancing their logistical capabilities.
