Etihad Cargo Marks Decade Of Operations In Vietnam's Growing Logistics Sector
Etihad Cargo, the logistics division of Etihad Airways, marks ten years of operations in Vietnam. This achievement underscores its dedication to bolstering Vietnam's trade and economic expansion, especially in high-tech and manufacturing. Since launching freighter services in July 2014, Etihad Cargo has steadily increased its presence in Vietnam.
Initially, the airline operated two A330 freighter flights weekly to Hanoi, offering 120 tonnes of cargo capacity. Currently, it runs four weekly Boeing 777F freighter flights, providing 400 tonnes of capacity to meet rising market demand. This expansion highlights Etihad Cargo's role in supporting Vietnam's growing trade needs.

The carrier has been instrumental in transporting high-tech products for major global brands like Samsung, Apple, Dell, and LG. It also moves garments, textiles, footwear, and other goods from Vietnam to Europe, the US, the Middle East, and Africa. This diverse cargo range showcases its adaptability to various market demands.
Beyond Hanoi operations, Etihad Cargo also serves Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam's second-largest air cargo hub. The airline offers two weekly charter flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Kuala Lumpur. This effectively establishes an online station for customers seeking reliable global cargo transport via Kuala Lumpur.
Etihad Cargo collaborates with interline partners to provide access to other significant Asian hubs such as Denpasar, Singapore, Phuket, Bangkok, and Manila. This network expansion enhances connectivity for customers across Asia and beyond.
The introduction of Etihad Cargo's SecureTech product has significantly boosted electronics shipments in Vietnam. In 2024 alone, SecureTech shipments from Hanoi rose by 43 percent year-on-year. They increased from 3,618 tonnes in 2023 to 5,174 tonnes during the same period in 2024.
Commitment to Digitalisation
This growth reflects Vietnam's pivotal role in the global electronics supply chain and Etihad Cargo's capability to offer dependable logistics solutions for sensitive high-tech goods. The company's commitment to digitalisation further enhances its service offerings.
Reflecting on this milestone, Stanislas Brun, Vice President Cargo stated: "Etihad Cargo's decade of successful operations in Hanoi and across Vietnam demonstrates the carrier's long-term commitment to this dynamic market. By continually enhancing its products and services, expanding capacity, and investing in digitalisation."
The achievements over the past decade highlight Etihad Cargo's dedication to providing quality air cargo solutions. Its ongoing efforts ensure that customers receive reliable services tailored to their evolving needs.
