Etihad Airways Named Official Airline Partner For The 1 Billion Followers Summit In Dubai

The 1 Billion Followers Summit, a major event focused on the content creator economy, has named Etihad Airways as its Official Airline partner for its third edition. This summit will be held at Dubai's New Media Academy from 11th to 13th January 2025. The theme for this edition is "Content for Good."

Etihad Airways' involvement aims to enhance the summit's objectives. These include establishing the UAE as a global centre for digital and creative industries, promoting impactful content to transform industries and social media, and encouraging investment in entrepreneurs and content creators.

Etihad Airways Partners with 1 Billion Followers Summit

Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer of Etihad Airways, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. "As the UAE's national carrier, Etihad's partnership with the third 1 Billion Followers Summit demonstrates our commitment to supporting major events both in the UAE and across the world. This event in particular highlights our forward-thinking and innovative spirit, as well as the role we play in connecting people and building communities."

Etihad Airways is expanding its network by adding 13 new destinations in 2025. This will increase its total number of served cities to 93. The airline continues to strengthen Abu Dhabi’s status as a key aviation hub and an entry point to the UAE.

The summit aims to reach over a billion people globally by gathering top social media influencers from various platforms. It seeks to explore how new media can drive positive societal change and support sustainable economic growth worldwide.

Alia AlHammadi, CEO of the New Media Academy, highlighted the summit's mission: "From the outset, the 1 Billion Followers Summit sought to forge partnerships that support the new media industry and establish the UAE as a creative destination and a global hub for digital content." She emphasised that the UAE's environment is ideal for advancing the creative economy.

The collaboration with Etihad also broadens the summit’s influence by attracting more participants and increasing visibility on social media platforms. This partnership aligns with efforts to position Abu Dhabi as an attractive destination for visitors attending global events.

The summit not only focuses on enhancing digital content but also encourages investor sponsorships for budding entrepreneurs and creators. By doing so, it supports innovation within the industry while fostering community connections through shared experiences.
