Etihad Airways Celebrates Inaugural Flight Connecting Abu Dhabi And Boston

Etihad Airways has officially commenced its first-ever service to Boston from Abu Dhabi, introducing a new chapter in travel between the United Arab Emirates and the United States. The inaugural flight, EY147, marked a significant moment for both cities, celebrated with a ceremonial display of UAE and US flags by Etihad's captains upon arrival in Massachusetts. This addition to Etihad's network underscores the airline's commitment to expanding its global footprint and enhancing the travel experience for its passengers.

The service, which began on Sunday, operates four times a week—Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Utilizing the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, the flights feature Etihad's Business Studios and Economy Smart seats, ensuring a comfortable journey for all passengers. Antonoaldo Neves, Etihad's Chief Executive Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the new route, highlighting its role in connecting the American Northeast with the Middle East and beyond.

"This new route not only brings the allure of Abu Dhabi and Dubai to the American Northeast but also signifies our commitment to delivering exceptional travel experiences and fostering global connections," Neves stated. He further emphasized the strategic timing of the flights, designed to cater to both corporate business travelers and leisure guests, offering convenient links to destinations across the Middle East and India.

Massport Interim CEO and Aviation Director Ed Freni welcomed Etihad Airways to Boston Logan International Airport, noting the importance of this new connection between Boston and the UAE. "This route provides a key connection between Boston and the UAE, and New Englanders now have even more options when planning a trip to the Middle East and beyond," Freni remarked.

Boston now joins Chicago, New York, and Washington as Etihad's fourth destination in the United States. This expansion not only strengthens ties between the UAE and US but also enriches travel options for passengers looking to explore new destinations. Additionally, with flights to Toronto in Canada, Etihad further extends its North American presence, providing enhanced accessibility and convenience for travelers.
