Etihad Airways And JetBlue Announce Expanded Loyalty Partnership Benefits
In a significant development for air travel loyalty programs, Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, alongside JetBlue, New York's Hometown Airline, have announced an enhancement to their codeshare partnership. Starting from 8 May 2024, members of both airlines' loyalty programs will enjoy added benefits. This announcement was made at the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai, marking a new chapter in the collaboration between these two aviation giants.
The partnership allows members of JetBlue’s TrueBlue loyalty program and Etihad Guest, the loyalty scheme of Etihad Airways, to earn and redeem miles across the expansive network of either airline. This integration not only broadens the horizon for members but also enriches the portfolio of redemption options available. Etihad Guest miles can now be redeemed for a variety of experiences including flights, worldwide hotel stays, and even converting miles into a reward card for shopping.

JetBlue’s revamped TrueBlue loyalty program introduces innovative features like tiles to track status, Perks You Pick, expanded Mosaic levels for its most loyal customers, and numerous ways to earn perks and status. TrueBlue is designed to cater to the individual preferences of travelers by offering them the flexibility to choose rewards that best suit their needs.
This collaboration builds upon nearly a decade of partnership between Etihad Airways and JetBlue, providing seamless access between New York and Boston to Etihad’s global network spanning over 70 destinations, as well as over 40 destinations across JetBlue’s network within the Americas. Mark Potter, Managing Director at Etihad Guest, expressed enthusiasm about extending this partnership to include loyalty programs, highlighting it as a testament to JetBlue's significance as a partner over the years.
Christopher Buckner, Vice President of Loyalty and Partnerships at JetBlue, echoed this sentiment. He emphasized how this extended partnership offers members more opportunities to earn and redeem on travel, thereby making journeys across both airlines’ networks more rewarding. This move is also indicative of Etihad’s ongoing commitment to the US market, demonstrated by the recent launch of direct services connecting Abu Dhabi with Boston and the introduction of the popular A380 on the New York route to expand capacity.
As these two airlines continue to strengthen their partnership, members of their loyalty programs can look forward to an enhanced travel experience with more flexible options for earning and redeeming miles. This collaboration not only benefits frequent flyers but also sets a new standard in airline loyalty programs by prioritizing customer choice and value.
