Esports World Cup 2025 Engages Fans Across 140 Countries With Extensive Coverage

The Esports World Cup 2025 has commenced in Riyadh, showcasing a massive media initiative to broadcast the event to esports fans in over 140 countries. This extensive coverage spans 35 languages and involves more than 90 media partners. The tournament will deliver over 7,000 hours of content from July 7 to August 24, across four main arenas and 26 specialized studios.

Ralf Reichert, CEO of the Esports World Cup, highlighted the significance of this year's event. He stated that it marks a pivotal moment for esports globally. "We are utilizing our collaborations with game publishers, clubs, and media platforms. With the backing of fans, we will continue to engage with various stakeholders and partners to mold the future of esports as a global sport with a lasting cultural and economic impact for generations to come," he said.

Esports World Cup Captivates Global Audience

The broadcasting strategy includes major channels like FOX Sports, NBC, and DAZN in the US; Eurosport and L'Équipe in Europe; MBC, TOD.tv, TRT, and ITV in the Middle East; SuperSport and StarTimes in Africa; Channel 7, Astro, Abema, Kuaishou, Douyin, and NAVER in Asia-Pacific. All events are streamed live on Twitch, YouTube, and TikTok.

This edition features significant advancements in technical infrastructure. Over 5,550 meters of metal structures were used for arenas and broadcasting facilities. LED screens cover more than 3,000 square meters with support from 2,600 lighting units. The technical operations involve over 550 broadcast employees and 300 field staff.

The tournament's technical setup includes 325 wireless communication devices and 250 control panels. Additionally, there are 175 cameras connected to 41 servers for broadcasting highlights across four main arenas and side platforms. This setup supports a comprehensive media experience for viewers worldwide.

The previous edition in 2024 attracted over 500 million viewers with a peak of 6.3 million concurrent viewers. Television coverage reached approximately 311 million households globally. The event generated more than $1.2 billion in media value through over 3.5 billion impressions.

Expanding Global Reach

This year's tournament represents a significant leap from last year’s edition with a remarkable increase of 55% in live broadcasting hours. The content is available through more than 90 media partners using advanced production lines and studios dedicated to commentary and analysis.

The Esports World Cup's modern approach leverages collaboration with content creators and influencers to engage digital audiences effectively. This strategy strengthens its position as a leading entertainment source for new generations globally.

The Kingdom's commitment to advancing gaming is evident through this large-scale event which ranks as the second-largest among global sporting events. It underscores Saudi Arabia's dedication to achieving global prominence in gaming and esports industries.
