Emirates Red Crescent Boosts Food Security With Bakery Support In Hadramaut
In a significant move to bolster food security in Yemen, the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has initiated a campaign aimed at supporting charitable bakeries within the Hadramaut Governorate. This initiative, focusing on Mukalla, Ash Shihr, and Ghail Bawazir districts, seeks to address the pressing needs of the local populace by enhancing their access to essential food supplies. The campaign is set to unfold in phases, starting with a distribution of 500 bags of flour to five charitable bakeries during the latter half of Ramadan, thereby ensuring an adequate production of bread for needy families.
Salem Omar Baras, who oversees Charitable Bakeries in the Governorate, underscored the campaign's critical role in fostering economic stability and uplifting living standards in the targeted areas. He pointed out that this ERC-backed initiative is crucial for families grappling with the scarcity of basic necessities amidst soaring living costs and the country's challenging conditions. Hamed Salem Qawaya, Supervisor of ERC Projects in Hadramaut Governorate, elaborated on the campaign's future trajectory, which includes further phases designed to enhance the operational capabilities of charitable bakeries and extend their reach. This strategy aims not only to meet immediate community needs but also to promote self-reliance in bread production.

The UAE's commitment to supporting underprivileged communities in Hadramaut through this campaign aligns with its broader objective of fostering stability and development in marginalized regions. By improving economic and social conditions, the initiative contributes significantly to enhancing the quality of life for local communities. Over time, ERC has launched numerous humanitarian and development projects across Hadramaut and other liberated areas, markedly elevating living standards and addressing various needs of the population.
This campaign represents a continuation of ERC's longstanding efforts to provide critical support to needy families in Yemen, reflecting its dedication to humanitarian causes worldwide. Through such initiatives, ERC not only addresses immediate food security concerns but also contributes to the sustainable development of communities facing adversity.
