Emirates Red Crescent Launches Ramadan Aid Project In Hadramaut, Yemen
In a significant humanitarian gesture, the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has initiated the "Ramadan Project" aimed at distributing essential food supplies to vulnerable groups in Mukalla and needy families across Hadramaut Governorate, Yemen. This initiative is set to benefit patients suffering from cancer, thalassemia, and kidney failure, alongside other disadvantaged families, ensuring they receive necessary sustenance during the holy month of Ramadan.
Hamoud Rashid Al Shamsi, serving as the Advisor for Development and International Cooperation and ERC Representative, highlighted that this project is a part of the UAE's broader humanitarian and development efforts. The goal is to enhance the quality of life for the Yemeni populace by alleviating their hardships and fulfilling their needs during Ramadan. This initiative also aims to bolster food security amidst the challenging circumstances faced by Yemen. Al Shamsi further elaborated that the aid would help bridge the food gap for the beneficiaries.

Ahmed Bazrous, Director General of the Office of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor on the Hadhramaut coast, commended the UAE for its continuous support in various sectors, particularly those impacting people's daily lives. He acknowledged the ERC's significant contributions towards assisting patients and the most needy families within Hadramaut Governorate.
The "Ramadan Project" is merely one among a series of humanitarian projects and programmes undertaken by the ERC in Yemen. These initiatives are part of a comprehensive response strategy aimed at addressing the multifaceted needs of the Yemeni people across different humanitarian and developmental sectors.
The distribution of 1,122 food baskets to 5,610 individuals underlines a substantial effort to ensure that those most in need are not forgotten during a time of reflection and community. By focusing on patients with severe health conditions and families facing economic hardships, the ERC underscores its commitment to not only addressing immediate nutritional needs but also fostering a sense of joy and community spirit during Ramadan.
This project reflects a broader commitment by the UAE to support Yemen during its ongoing humanitarian crisis. Through such targeted aid initiatives, the ERC aims to make a tangible difference in the lives of thousands, offering hope and support where it is most needed.
In conclusion, as Ramadan continues to be a period for compassion and giving, initiatives like the "Ramadan Project" by the Emirates Red Crescent play a crucial role in bringing communities together, providing much-needed relief, and reinforcing solidarity with those in need across Yemen.
