ERC Organises 1,971 Food Parcels For Gaza In Celebration Of Eid Al Etihad
The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) recently hosted a humanitarian event in line with the 54th Eid Al Etihad celebrations. This initiative involved preparing 1,971 relief packages for Gaza, symbolising the UAE's founding year. The event highlighted the nation's values of generosity and unity, creating a festive atmosphere that celebrated the national occasion.
Dr. Hamdan Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the ERC Board of Directors, stated to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) that these initiatives reflect the UAE's vision prioritising human dignity. He noted that this vision is evident in ERC's programmes, such as the food parcel initiative for Gaza. The initiative serves as a practical link between humanitarian efforts and the spirit of the Union.

Al Mazrouei emphasised that the ERC's efforts during Eid Al Etihad convey national and humanitarian messages. These messages embody the spirit of the Union established in 1971 by Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and other founding rulers. The ERC aims to reinforce these values through its activities.
Al Mazrouei highlighted that the UAE has earned its reputation as the "Homeland of Humanity." He stressed that ERC's initiatives strengthen this title, especially since the UAE is recognised as the largest donor of humanitarian aid worldwide relative to its national income. This reflects a deeply ingrained national identity centred on giving.
The ERC's commitment to humanitarian work aligns with its broader mission to support those in need globally. By organising events like this one, they continue to uphold and promote values central to both their organisation and the nation.
This celebration not only marks a significant national milestone but also reinforces a commitment to global humanitarian efforts. Through these actions, the UAE continues to demonstrate leadership in international aid and solidarity.
