Saudi Environment Ministry Achieves Excellence Certificate At WSIS+20 Forum For E-Agriculture Innovation
The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in Saudi Arabia has been honoured with an Excellence Certificate at the World Summit on Information Society (WSIS+20) 2025. This accolade was awarded in recognition of their achievements in E-Agriculture and Artificial Intelligence. The Vice Minister, Eng. Mansour Almushaiti, accepted the award during a ceremony held in Geneva.
The ministry's project stood out among over 360 international entries, advancing to the final stage as one of the top five projects. The event took place from July 7-11 and was hosted by the UN International Telecommunication Union (ITU) alongside the Swiss Confederation. It also saw participation from UNESCO, UNDP, and UNCTAD.

The project was selected for its alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It strategically uses artificial intelligence to provide sustainable solutions that benefit users. This achievement underscores Saudi Arabia's commitment to innovation and sustainable digital transformation, aligning with Vision 2030 goals.
Eng. Almushaiti expressed that this global recognition highlights Saudi Arabia's leadership support for environmental, water, and agricultural sectors. He stated that it reflects the Kingdom's dedication to integrating modern technologies across these key areas.
The ministry's smart digital system for livestock health played a crucial role in earning this award. This system offers precise data and an innovative user experience, aiding better decision-making and addressing environmental challenges effectively.
By leveraging modern technologies and smart digital platforms, the ministry successfully aligned its project with SDGs. This approach ensures comprehensive services and solutions are delivered efficiently.
Consistent Recognition
This is not the first time the Ministry has been recognised for its efforts. It ranked first in this category in 2019, 2022, and 2023. Additionally, it has received over six international Certificates of Excellence across e-government, agriculture, and environmental fields.
Eng. Almushaiti emphasised that Saudi Arabia is now among leading nations embracing innovation in key sectors like environment, water, and agriculture. He noted that this achievement showcases the Kingdom's role as a global model for using technology to benefit both people and nature.
