Umrah Performers Explore Islamic Culture Through Exhibitions At Holy Mosques

The General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has taken a significant step towards enhancing the spiritual and cultural journey of visitors to the Two Holy Mosques. Through the organization of both permanent and mobile exhibitions within and around the Grand Mosque, they aim to provide an immersive experience that highlights the rich architectural, cultural, and historical significance of these sacred sites.

Utilizing advanced digital techniques, these exhibitions offer visitors a unique opportunity to virtually explore the corridors of the Two Holy Mosques. They delve into the evolution of Islamic architecture, arts, and crafts over time, supported by a selection of heritage, legal, and historical texts. This initiative reflects the sustained interest and efforts from the era of King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al-Saud through to the current reign of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud. The exhibitions showcase a bridge between past and present, featuring items such as carpets, doors, vehicles, the "Kiswa" (the cloth covering the Kaaba), the Well of Zamzam, and models showcasing the expansions in Saudi Arabia.

Umrah: Cultural Exhibits at Holy Mosques

To further enrich visitor experiences, professional staff are on hand to guide through both permanent and mobile exhibitions, employing modern methods to engage international audiences. A key objective is to elevate visitor awareness and appreciation for the Two Holy Mosques through organized tours. These include visits to the exhibitions at the Grand Mosque during Ramadan, as well as tours of the library of the Holy Mosque of Makkah and the Library of Al Masjid Al Haram.

Additionally, visitors are encouraged to explore the King Abdulaziz Complex for Holy Kaaba Kiswah, open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and from 4 p.m. until 11 p.m. The Library of Al Masjid Al Haram, situated on the second floor next to King Fahd Gate, welcomes visitors throughout the day. For those interested in further exploration, the library of the Holy Mosque of Makkah in Batha Quraysh is accessible during two time slots: from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.

This initiative not only aims to provide an educational journey through Islamic history but also seeks to deepen visitors' connection with their faith by offering a closer look at the Two Holy Mosques' architectural marvels and historical treasures. Through these exhibitions, visitors can witness firsthand the development that has taken place over time, bridging past and present in a meaningful way.
