Enhancing Trade Exchange And Industrial Integration Between Oman And Saudi Arabia: A Workshop Overview

Eng. Khalil bin Ibrahim bin Salamah, the Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Industrial Affairs, took part in a workshop in Muscat. The event, titled "Enhancing Trade Exchange and Industrial Integration Between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia," aimed to explore ways to boost trade and industrial collaboration between the two nations.

The workshop brought together key figures, including Oman's Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef. Officials and investors from both countries also attended. Discussions focused on enhancing trade exchange, promoting industrial integration, facilitating exports, and strengthening supply chains.

Strengthening Saudi-Omani Industrial Ties

One of the primary topics was the integration of supply chains and improving connectivity between ports and economic zones in both countries. These efforts are designed to cut costs, increase efficiency, and ensure that national products meet market demands. Additionally, these initiatives aim to create new job opportunities and bolster productive sectors.

Eng. Khalil highlighted the workshop's role in fostering Gulf industrial integration. He stressed its importance in developing sustainable solutions to challenges faced by manufacturers and exporters. Saudi Arabia and Oman have strong economic relations, with bilateral trade reaching around SAR13 billion in 2023. Saudi exports to Oman were valued at SAR4.5 billion, while imports from Oman amounted to SAR8.5 billion. These figures demonstrate the significant economic ties between the two nations.

The workshop's initiatives align with Saudi Vision 2030 and Oman Vision 2040. Both visions aim to enhance economic growth through strategic partnerships and collaborations within the region.

The discussions also addressed challenges faced by exporters in both countries. By identifying these obstacles, the workshop sought to develop strategies that would facilitate smoother trade exchanges and industrial cooperation.
