Prophet's Mosque Enhances Mobility For Elderly, Disabled Visitors

In a significant move to enhance the accessibility and convenience for visitors, the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has ramped up its transportation services within the courtyards of the Prophet's Mosque. This initiative, primarily aimed at assisting the elderly and individuals with disabilities, has seen a remarkable uptake during the first week of Ramadan, with approximately 34,000 beneficiaries availing of the service.

The Transportation Services Department, under the General Authority, has been diligent in its efforts to ensure smooth and efficient transportation for its visitors. Notably, around 1,000 wheelchairs are being distributed daily to worshippers, alongside the maintenance and repair of 505 wheelchairs. This meticulous attention to operational and maintenance aspects underscores the administration's commitment to providing an inclusive and barrier-free environment for all worshippers.

Mobility Boost at Prophet's Mosque

Moreover, the administration is actively involved in overseeing the preparation of a comprehensive plan. This plan encompasses the routes and timings for the movement of vehicles within the Prophet's Mosque and its courtyards. The objective is to streamline vehicular movement while minimizing any inconvenience to worshippers. Additionally, the provision, delivery, and maintenance of wheelchairs during these times are being closely monitored to ensure uninterrupted service.

This initiative is part of a broader commitment by the General Authority to offer all possible services to visitors of the Prophet's Mosque. By facilitating easier access through transportation services and ensuring the availability of wheelchairs, the authority aims to enhance the spiritual experience for every visitor, particularly those in need of assistance.

The efforts undertaken by the Transportation Services Department reflect a thoughtful approach towards catering to the diverse needs of worshippers. As thousands flock to the Prophet's Mosque during Ramadan, such measures are indispensable in ensuring that everyone can participate in religious observances with ease and dignity.
