Minister Majed Al-Hogail Opens Engineering And Quality Of Life Forum To Promote Sustainable Development
The Engineering and Quality of Life Forum was inaugurated by Minister of Municipalities and Housing Majed Al-Hogail. This two-day event, organised by the Saudi Council of Engineers in collaboration with the Quality of Life Program, focuses on the intersection of engineering and quality of life. Al-Hogail highlighted the engineering sector's role in achieving Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to foster a vibrant, innovative, and sustainable environment.
Al-Hogail emphasised that improving quality of life is a core aspect of Vision 2030. He noted the importance of collaboration across sectors like engineering, economics, and social development for sustainable growth. The Kingdom is committed to enhancing living standards through these collaborative efforts.

Ahmed Sheikh, Chairman of the Saudi Council of Engineers Board of Directors, discussed the council's alignment with Saudi Arabia's global leadership in engineering. The council plans to reformulate its strategy to maximise engineering work value and empower engineers to drive innovation and development.
Khalid Albaker, CEO of the Quality of Life Program, outlined initiatives by the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing aimed at improving living standards. These include the "Ajwad" initiative focused on sustainable development and high-quality living standards.
Albaker mentioned significant progress in enhancing public parks, tree planting, and implementing local and regional development plans. These efforts are part of broader initiatives to improve quality of life under the program.
The Furas platform has played a crucial role in facilitating contracts within the municipal sector. It has created opportunities for engineers to engage in sustainable urban planning projects.
