EMSTEEL Achieves Safety Culture And Leadership Award 2025 From World Steel Association For AMAN 2.0 Initiative

EMSTEEL, a major player in the steel and building materials sector, has been honoured with the Safety Culture and Leadership Award 2025 by the World Steel Association (worldsteel). This accolade recognises EMSTEEL's exceptional health and safety protocols across its operations. The award has been acknowledging excellence in safety and health within the industry since 2008.

The award aims to spotlight steel companies excelling in occupational safety management, occupational health management, and process safety management. EMSTEEL's "AMAN 2.0 – Achieving Safety Excellence" project was pivotal in securing this recognition. This initiative follows the original AMAN Safety Culture Transformation project, which also won worldsteel’s award in 2020.

EMSTEEL Wins Prestigious Safety Award 2025

Launched on the 2023 World Day for Safety, AMAN 2.0 introduced a comprehensive framework that integrates advanced leadership, operational excellence, and digital safety tools. This programme aims to drive continuous improvement in safety practices across the company. Implemented from 2023 to 2024, it has brought significant improvements in various areas.

Through AMAN 2.0, EMSTEEL achieved a Zero Lost-Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR) and reduced its Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIFR) by 52 percent. The project also saw a notable increase in leading indicators: near-miss reporting rose by 35 percent, hazard observations increased by 31 percent (from 17,500 in 2022 to 23,000 in 2024), and participation in safety leadership training doubled.

Saeed Ghumran Al Remeithi, Group CEO of EMSTEEL, expressed pride in receiving this prestigious award for the second time from the global steel association. He stated, "We are honoured to win this outstanding award given by the world’s leading global steel association for the second time. At the heart of our business priorities are the health and safety and well-being of our people."

Al Remeithi highlighted that AMAN 2.0 embodies EMSTEEL’s dedication to workplace safety and ongoing performance enhancement. The programme sets a new standard for safety excellence within the company. Key factors contributing to its success include employee engagement, cross-functional collaboration, and senior management support.

Building on Past Successes

This recent achievement adds to EMSTEEL's history of excellence in safety practices. In 2021, they received worldsteel's Safety and Health Excellence Recognition award for exceptional performance in Crane Operations and Rigging Safety. Such accolades underscore their commitment to maintaining high standards of safety across all operations.

The successful implementation of AMAN 2.0 has further strengthened EMSTEEL's industry-leading safety performance on a Group-wide scale. The company's focus on continuous improvement ensures that they remain at the forefront of safety innovation within the steel industry.
